Taima Growth wins Spain's fourth AEMPS medical cannabis cultivation license

Spanish grower Taima Growth becomes fourth entity licensed by Spain's medicines regulator to cultivate cannabis for medical supply.

Taima Growth has secured approval from Spain's AEMPS (Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios) to operate as a medical cannabis cultivator, bringing the total number of licensed producers in Spain to four. The license signals continued institutional expansion of Spain's regulated medical cannabis sector, which remains restricted to pharmaceutical-grade cultivation and distribution.

The approval arrives as Spain's medical cannabis framework continues to crystallize. Curaleaf recently became the first operator to register standardized cannabis preparations with Spanish regulators, suggesting momentum toward standardized product pathways. Spain has simultaneously ruled out adult-use legalization, keeping the market narrowly focused on medical and clinical supply.
