CC Health receives new retail license in South Dakota

The company now holds both a medical cannabis cultivation license and a medical cannabis dispensary license, both listed as active in Rapid City.
The approval coincides with an unusual number of license deactivations filed the same day: at least a dozen operators—including multiple Royzzz locations, Superior Buds, Dakota Health and Wellness, and others—are no longer active on the state roster. The simultaneous closures suggest possible license expirations, enforcement actions, or voluntary withdrawals rather than market turnover.
South Dakota's medical market currently supports 52 open retail licenses, 30 cultivation operations, and 14 manufacturing facilities. Whether CC Health's new license reflects market consolidation or addresses operational gaps among the departing operators remains unclear.
