Big Island Grown receives medical cannabis retail license in Hawaii
Big Island Grown joins eight other newly licensed Hawaii retailers in a licensing wave that includes one Kauai closure.

The approval marks one of nine retail licensing actions recorded on August 6, with eight new licenses issued and one Kauai County operation—Green Aloha's Kauai license—no longer active.
The cluster of new licenses across multiple islands suggests active processing of retail applications. Big Island Grown joins licensed operators on Maui, Oahu, and other islands, bringing Hawaii's total open retail count to eight. State records show no pending applications and no activity in cultivation, manufacturing, or testing labs.
Watch whether these new licensees begin dispensing and what volumes they report, as Hawaii's medical program has not yet posted year-to-date sales figures.
