Green Aloha obtains new retail license as Hawaii medical market expands
Green Aloha's new license comes amid a wave of retail openings in Hawaii, though a related Kauai County location simultaneously lost active status.

The timing coincides with a notable burst of retail licensing activity: seven other operators—including Pono Life Maui, Maui Grown Therapies, Noa Botanicals, Cure Oahu, Aloha Green, Big Island Grown, and Hawaiian Ethos—all obtained new licenses on the same date.
The expansion comes with a complication. Concurrent filings show that Kauai County Green Aloha, a separate medical cannabis dispensary license, is no longer active as of August 6. Official records show both a Kauai County Green Aloha location and a standalone Green Aloha license listed as active, suggesting the company may be consolidating or shifting its footprint across islands.
Hawaii's medical-only market now lists eight open retail operators. Watch whether the spike in new licenses signals accelerated state approval of pending applications, or whether licensing activity remains episodic.
