Phire Labs distributor license becomes inactive in California
A California distributor license for Phire Labs has been deactivated, marking one of several recent closures in the state's supply chain.
FILE — closure · Ivan Radic / CC BY 2.0Phire Labs, a licensed distributor in California, no longer holds an active license as of July 25, according to the state license roster. The company's distributor license (C11-0000053-LIC) was previously listed as active but has now been deactivated.
The closure comes amid a broader churn in California's cannabis operations. Recent records show at least three other closures in the same timeframe—Zelena Ranch LLC (distribution), California Canna Company, and Urban Roots—alongside numerous ownership transfers and new license issuances across retail, distribution, and delivery segments. California maintained 1,253 active retail locations as of late July.
What to watch: whether Phire Labs' exit reflects supply-chain consolidation or operational challenges, and whether the wave of recent transfers signals market restructuring among existing license holders.
