Colombia approves medical cannabis flower use

Colombia has cleared the way for medical cannabis flower applications, advancing the country's regulated cannabis framework.

Colombia has approved medical cannabis flower use, according to reporting from the International Cannabis Business Conference. The move appears to represent a regulatory expansion in a country that has already legalized cannabis and begun building out cultivation and distribution infrastructure.

Prior coverage shows Colombia has been moving steadily toward a more robust medical cannabis market: lawmakers approved a legalization bill in May 2026, a specialized medical pharmacy opened in Medellín in March 2026, and a solar-powered cultivation operation launched in May 2026. The country also exported $10.8M in cannabis products as of April 2024.
