The licensing event coincided with an unusual wave of inactivity—12 retail operators lost active status on August 6, including multiple Royzzz-branded locations, Superior Buds, Dakota Dispensaries, and others. South Dakota's medical market currently lists 52 open retail locations, 30 cultivation sites, 14 manufacturing operations, and one testing lab.
The simultaneous closures and new entry suggest possible license consolidation or compliance cycle activity in the state market.
