Genesis Farms license becomes inactive in South Dakota cannabis market
Genesis Farms joins at least a dozen other operators whose licenses went inactive on South Dakota's medical roster Aug. 6.
FILE — closure · Ivan Radic / CC BY 2.0Genesis Farms, LLC's cannabis license is no longer active in South Dakota, according to the state license roster. The deactivation occurred on August 6, part of a broader wave: at least 12 other operators—including multiple Royzzz locations, Dakota Health and Wellness, and Superior Buds—had their licenses marked inactive the same day.
South Dakota's medical program currently shows 52 open retail, 30 cultivation, 14 manufacturing, and 1 lab license. The simultaneous loss of multiple licenses suggests either a regulatory action, compliance event, or routine roster reconciliation, though the state regulator has not provided public comment on the closures.
Watch whether the state publishes formal notices explaining the deactivations and whether the affected operators attempt license reinstatement.
