On the same day, state records show 12 cannabis retailers and cultivators ceased operations or had licenses deactivated, including multiple Royzzz-affiliated locations, Superior Buds, Northern Hills Alternative Health, and Dakota Dispensaries. Despite the exits, South Dakota maintains 52 active retail licenses, 30 cultivation licenses, and 14 manufacturing licenses under its medical-only program.
The divergent movements suggest ongoing consolidation within the state market.
