Tree Amigos Cannabis LLC received a new retail dispensary license for its Canyon location in New Mexico on September 12, according to state license records. The company now holds two active retail licenses in the state.

The opening arrives amid significant churn in New Mexico's retail sector. The same licensing roster update recorded 12 retail closures, including locations operated by Purlife Holdings LLC, Vireo of Santa Fea, and several regional chains. New Mexico's retail market remains substantial, with 1,006 open dispensaries statewide as of late September.

Watch whether the pace of retail exits continues in coming weeks, and whether market consolidation or regulatory enforcement pressure may be driving the closures. The closures roughly follow an illegal cultivation bust in Estancia that seized 21,000 pounds in late September, though timing suggests separate issues.
